Well first of I made The Manger and child.
the baby Jesus is removable so you can leave the manger empty till christmas eve, a tradition I quite like even though I've never taken part in that one.
The second part I made was the donkey.
The swedish do not believe in horses, what they think about donkeys I do not know. What is certain is that there have never been a more majestic donkey than this
The loving parents are also in there.
The Mother Mary and the worlds first step-dad Joseph.
I also made a sheep that turned out quite allright
It is not known if there were three magi. All the bible says is that there were some magi and they bore three gifts. There could have been several and they saved up together or there could have been two and one of them brought two gifts, however tradition says they were three, Melchoir, Baltazar and Caspar.
Melchoir is, according to some sorces, the oldest of the magi and he carried Gold. He is also the king of Arabia, apparantly. The gift of gold symbolizes the Jesus as an earthly king.
Balthazar is middleaged and was the king of Ethiopia. The gift of frankincense symbolises Jesus as a spiritual leader. He Is also the only darkskinned man in the nativity scene I made, this is actually coincidental. The reason for only having one darkskinned guy is that I only had so much brown clay. Or it could be that I'm a huge racist, I'm just asking the questions.
Caspar is the youngest of the magi. Apperantly in his twenties which is a young age to become the king of Tarsus. His gift is myrrh which was used to make medicine. This gift symbolizes Jesus as a healer.
Last there is the shepherd
I'm quite fond of him because he looks a bit like me.... anyway thats the gang.
Together they look like this
